  • 1. Why my Demat Account freezed by DP without my consent? What will happen to my Karvy account?

    Given that your DP account was with Karvy, we have now been nominated as your new depository participant by NSDL & CDSL. Your Demat account details including securities balances will remain the same, only the DP name will be changed to IIFL from Karvy. The demat accounts are transferred to IIFL in freezed mode, hence for activation (unfreezing) of the said accounts to enable the client to operate his/her demat account. For activation of the Demat Account and opening of the Trading Account with us, kindly follow the process on https://wecarekarvy.indiainfoline.com/. (For Only Individual Clients)

    If you are not able to complete the process online, you can visit your nearest branch or submit the following documents to the below-mentioned address.

    1. Customer has to provide re-KYC (Account Opening Form) mentioning the Karvy demat account number on the first page to Reactivate his Demat Account & Open a new trading account.

    2. Customer need to send the re-KYC form hard copy on given below address with self-attested supporting documents (ID & Address proof)

    3. After receiving the complete form, the customer will get an In person Verification Video call from Head Office to verify his details.

    4. Once verification is completed, the Demat & trading account will get activated.

  • 2. How will I get holdings in my Karvy demat Account?

  • 4. My Karvy Demat Account is moved to IIFL how and when can I start trading?

    You would be required to activate your trading account in a very simple process. To get your account activated, you can visit our nearest branch or visit https://wecarekarvy.iiflcapital.com and follow the steps accordingly to get the account activated.

    On activation of your trading account, You can start trading by Login to https://markets.iiflcapital.com or IIFL Mobile App through secured login. You may now follow the EDIS process to sell the shares through easy, paperless IIFL e-DIS services.

    Steps to enable the e-DIS facility through the IIFL Markets App:

    1. Log in to the IIFL Markets App with valid credentials.

    2. Once logged in successfully, kindly go to the Portfolio section and click on the button "Actions" at the top of the page to complete your e-DIS, irrespective of whether you have an NSDL or CDSL DP account.

    3. Once clicked on "Actions", kindly click on "Sell Holding", select the holding, and click on "Sell scrip".

    4. In the case of CDSL DP, you would be redirected to the CDSL page for TPIN & OTP verification, and for NSDL DP clients, you would be redirected to the NSDL page for MPIN & OTP verification.

    5. Once successful verification is done, you can sell your respective holdings instantly.

    Steps to enable the e-DIS facility through the IIFL Markets Web Portal:

    1. Log in to https://markets.iiflcapital.com

    2. Click on "Holdings".

    3. Click on "Authorize/E-DIS". An authorization pop-up would be displayed, further clicking on the "Authorize" button.

    4. In the case of CDSL DP, you would be redirected to the CDSL page for TPIN & OTP verification, and for NSDL DP clients, you would be redirected to the NSDL page for MPIN & OTP verification.

    5. Once successful verification is done, you can sell your respective holdings instantly.

    For the ones who do not want to use EDIS will have to provide the limited purpose Power of Attorney (POA) in favour of IIFL Capital Services Ltd. You can directly courier the POA at the below address or else you can submit the same at our nearest branch. Once the POA is received by our activation team, your DP account will get unfreezed and you will be able to view your holdings and start trading.

    In case of any balance in the account – The client will have to submit proper KYC documents to IIFL for activating the account (if not KYC compliant) and then submit documents for closure of account.

  • 12. What process to be followed if the client has submitted the closure process to CDSL prior to shifting the account to IIFL ?

    The client has to send mail to transfer@cdslindia.com to stop the closure request which was submitted by the client to CDSL Depository. Once CDSL Depository stops the closure request then we can able to unfreeze the demat a/c from our end.

  • 14. .How can I unfreeze my Karvy Demat (DP) account?


    You can unfreeze your DP account either online (if eligible) or through a physical process. The documents required depend on your KRA status and whether you want to update any details. If you face issues online, you will need to follow the physical process.

  • 15. I only want to unfreeze my DP account. What documents are required?

    If your KRA is verified and no changes are required, please submit:

    • Two-page DP Unfreezing Form
    • Self-attested supporting documents
    • Tariff Annexure

  • 16. I want to unfreeze my DP account and update my details. What should I submit?

    If you want to update bank details, address, contact details, DDPI, or DP linking, you need to submit:

    • Complete Account Opening Form (AOF)
    • Self-attested supporting documents
  • 17. My KRA is not verified and my DP is frozen. What should I do?

    You need to submit:

    • Complete AOF
    • Self-attested supporting documents
    • Client Master List (CML)
  • 18. Can I open a trading account along with DP unfreezing?

    Yes. To open a new trading account and unfreeze your DP, please submit:

    • Complete AOF

  • 19. I already have a trading account. How can I reactivate my frozen DP?

    If your trading account is active and only your DP is frozen, you need to submit:

    • Complete AOF
    • Self-attested supporting documents
